A business direct marketing specialist, Mike Housley began his career with D&B where he was a key player in the development of their marketing data division. In 1993 he set up b2b data marketing agency DMS (Database Marketing Services) where he worked with a range of clients in sectors including business banking, telecoms, business services and logistics.
Rebranded as Symphony Direct Communications, DMS was acquired by Draft (part of the US based global agency group Interpublic) in 1999. He was then appointed MD of Draft Digital before leaving in 2003 to establish www.totalhotspots.com, a global wifi hotspots directory. Mike joined LBM as managing director of its Data Division in 2004 and went on to become their Strategic Development Director.
A golfing enthusiast, Mike has played some of the best courses in the World and regularly engages in friendly rivalry with three Scottish friends at the likes of Gleneagles, St Andrews and Loch Lomond - and even Sun City in South Africa. As Mike says, ‘they have a distinct unfair advantage, having been born with golf clubs in their hands!’. Mike’s ‘claim to fame’ was a hole-in-one last year – although apparently it proved rather expensive in the bar!
